Pinky Up Palm Beach…

Saturday dawned clear and bright.

We enjoyed morning coffee on the patio as the sun rose.

We quickly dressed in breakfast chic and headed to Palm Beach.

The drive along the coast was gorgeous except when we passed Mar-a-Lago…just the thought of being close to Agent Orange made my skin crawl.

I made an 8am reservation at the landmark Colony Hotel (established 1947) for breakfast by the pool at Swifty’s, a permanent NYC transplant pop up.

An Upper East Side stalwart for almost two decades, Swifty’s ended its infamous run in 2016.

Founder Robert Caravaggi together with the Wetenhall’s, the present Colony owners, have brought Swifty’s to Palm Beach.

Only one other table was occupied so we settled into a perfectly placed, elegantly appointed spot by the edge of the pool.

Our server, Marie, who has worked at the Colony for 18 years, warmly greeted us.

All staff dresses in the house colors of pink and white.

We commented on her adorable spider monkey strewn bandana imprinted with the Colony’s mascot, Johnnie Brown. Soon after she gifted us with the scarf and a pink Colony keychain.

We started with a healthy Doctor Green Juice consisting of apple, kale, pineapple, lemon and ginger ($14).

My husband ordered la “Pastelitos” Pancakes with guava compote, cream cheese, pumpkin seed and
almond maple syrup. They were sweet, light and delicious ($28).

.

My $38 omelette was fabulous…you pay for the atmosphere. The dish was served with well done potatoes, watercress salad and a well toasted English muffin.

The music and overall ambiance was fantastic.

Here’s a mini tour of the Colony Hotel:

We walked off breakfast on Worth Avenue taking in all the high end designer boutiques and art galleries before the tony and tourist crowd descended.

By 10am we were changed and on the beach savoring a fabulous breakfast moment, a stunning drive and a picture perfect day on the beach.

Swifty’s at The Colony Hotel 155 Hammon Avenue Palm Beach, Florida. Valet and street parking. Reservations on Resy. Open daily 7am-10pm for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
