I have done my due diligence in presenting Holiday decorations from New York City, Paris, France and Santa Monica, California.
Drum roll, please…for my last and final display of Christmas cheer, I present Palm Beach, Florida.
Worth Avenue is unlike any street in America. It is elegant, wealthy and frozen in time. When the lights go down, Frank Sinatra serenades the nighttime strollers and warm Floridian air with his dulcet tones.
Worth Avenue was first developed in 1918. In 2010, the $15.8 million Worth Avenue Improvement Project was conducted during the off-season and lasted two years, with the Town of Palm Beach and City of West Palm Beach responsible for $1.25 million of the cost and $14.77 million from the issuance of public improvement revenue bonds.
This major streetscape redesign included planting of 200 mature coconut palms, each from 32 to 40 feet tall, installing tabby concrete sidewalks (a type of concrete made in the seventeenth century by burning oysters shells) that are typically used for expensive residences, and building a 25-foot clock tower on the beach side.
Last night, there was a full moon bouncing off the illuminated tree in front of Tiffany’s on Worth Avenue. The courtyards and hidden alleyways were adorned with poinsettia and lights.
Ralph Lauren was dressed to the 9’s and Chanel highlighted seasonal accessories.
Here’s a brief refresher course in Holiday cheer…enjoy and Happy Holidays!
I constantly spent my half an hour to read this weblog’s articles or reviews every day along with a mug of coffee.
