The Middle-Aged & The Restless…

Some days it is difficult to get out of bed.

I wish I could just sleep all day, but that isn’t going to happen.

So, I begrudgingly stagger out of bed and start the day the same darn way I did yesterday and the day before.

I prepare Madison’s gourmet breakfast, refill the water bowl, publish my daily post, consume a vital espresso, make the bed, clean the bathroom and get ready to rumble.

Exercise is my first major activity of the day. Lately, I am doing hard time on the freeways as I spin and hang on the Pilates reformer three days a week in the far off province of West Hollywood.

By the time I battle street and freeway traffic (people in LA talk more about traffic than sex) I need a workout to soothe my frayed nerves.

Then it’s grocery shopping, errands, home to walk the dog, lunch prep, dinner planning, working, writing, cursing out the bills for the renovation and before you know it, time for bed.

No wonder I love vacations. It is a break from the monotony of everyday routine.

Today I am really switching things up. I am going to the dentist which I fear as much as earthquakes and NY Giants loses. I am looking forward to having lunch with an adorable friend who has zero body fat and scales mountains when she is bored on the weekends.

And the beat goes on…
