The Exhilaration Of Playing Local…

Alone time.

I often forget how exhilarating being alone can be.

Yesterday, our day commenced with espresso and freshly baked croissants at an outdoor cafe in the 2nd arrondissement.

We met a lovely family from Milan, Italy while   enjoying a typical Parisienne breakfast.

We then walked to the Marais passing many interesting sights.

We took in the splendor of Place de Voges.

We traversed one of my favorite little shopping streets, Rue Francs Bourgeois.

Along the way we passed a cannabis vending machine.  No Coke for you…Cannabis!

My partner in crime was faced with reality, having a meeting scheduled so I provided my expert navigational skills and we headed for his lunch date on the charming walking street, Rue Montorgueil.

After parting, I spotted the restaurant Au Rocher de Canale and sat outside in the sun with a lovely glass of Viognier and a half dozen oysters from the divine Cancale region in Brittany.

I then kept on truckin’ past Stohrer, the famous patisserie which has been whipping up elegant edibles since 1730.

Unannounced, my Apple Watch sang out absolute delight informing me that I had recorded 18,000 steps.

Me, myself and I enjoyed ourselves immensely.

I am looking forward to dinner in Paris…the number two also radiates fabulosity.

By the way, how sweet is that man of mine. At lunch he was informed that he must visit the wonderful chocolate shop a few doors up on the street.

He brought me a delectable gift from Francois Pralus, a French chocolate maker who has been making chocolate since 1991. He has one of the most diverse lines of single origin bars. Pralus also owns a plantation in Madagascar, affording him the opportunity to have direct control of the quality of the beans.
