What better mother/daughter shared bonding experience then indulging in retail therapy.
My daughter had a long list of work related clothing acquisitions to check off so we took to the Pacific Coast Highway with top down and tunes blasting.
We cruised through Malibu, stopped and picked up some much needed caffeine and arrived at the Camarillo Premium Outlets in under one hour.
We made a beeline for the designer section and scored big time.
Courtny needed evening wear for several award shows that are looming in the next few weeks.
We were beyond successful at Kate Spade. Being a holiday weekend, Kate was offering Courtny 50% off as well as an additional 30%. Come on, how do you not take advantage of that deal.
We would be crazy to just turn and walk away.
We discovered two gorgeous silk dresses…retail price $400. The shocking pink number was discounted more deeply than the classic black…both with pockets. Courtny looked amazing and the bottom line was $74.
Accessories were next. We found a beautiful evening clutch to add to the killa vintage necklace for the timeless little black dress and outrageous shoes and earrings to compliment the pink number.
Mission Accomplished.
I had admired a large tote a woman was carrying in Malibu last week. I thought it was Givenchy (this season it is all about flowers and fruit), but it was Kate Spade. I complimented her and moved on.
When I entered Kate Spade it was steering me down..hello, sweetheart.
The bag retails for $345 and I was able to make a deal for under $100.
Thank you, Victoria, the outstanding salesperson who rescued the dresses from obscurity in the back room. As always, you need to send a woman into the trenches to do the job right.
We hit up Barneys (shoes, accessories), J.Crew (sweaters, jewelry), Converse (black leather converse $58), Ralp Lauren (sweaters, sportswear 75% off), Ella (shirts), Lucky Brand t’s and I generally assumed the role of Santa.
I grabbed some unbelievable gifts at ridiculously fabulous prices.
We left satiated, but hungry and met up with David and the doggies at Cafe Habana in Malibu. We toasted the holiday weekend, indulging in a delicious kale salad and a brown rice bowl…another shared experience.
Thats how I spell Satisfaction…
