Tinker Bell sprinkled fairy dust all over my Mother’s Day.
Fantasyland became a reality for my daughter, Courtny, and 17,000 other fierce Tinker Bells.
The Tinker Bell 1/2 Marathon started at 5:30am and we were up and out soon after to make it to the finish line at Disneyland.
Damn Vertigo couldn’t keep me away from seeing my daughter sacrifice her body.
Finding the finish line was the hardest part.
Courtny and her friend, Christie, looked fabulous even after logging a total of 13.1 miles.
We cheered their victory and congratulated the dynamic duo.
We reveled in their accomplishment and then the day became all about me.
We hit the highway for Terranea, a divine resort situated above the cliffs in picturesque Rancho Palos Verdes.
I had a 90 minute massage in the serene spa.
A middle-aged Persian masseuse was my date.
I always thought that a guy had to do you, but Sahdi was amazing.
I was nestled on the most comfortable massage table draped in 1,000 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets that were like butta’.
I glided out of the massage room and slowly regrouped sprawled on an outdoor chaise lounge overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
It was so clear that it appeared that you could literally reach out and touch Catalina Island.
Once conscious, we picnicked on the grounds, opened presents and toasted me with Veuve Clicquot.
Home again, home again, hippity hop to dress for dinner at Geoffrey’s in Malibu.
The destination was meaningful. David took me to Geoffrey’s on my very first Mother’s Day before Courtny had made her grand appearance.
I am one lucky Motha…what a husband, such a daughter, an incredible Mother’s Day!!
And the 2016 Mother’s Day fades to black over the Pacific Ocean…
