Mandatory Voting…

I voted  in the New York primary yesterday for Governor, Lt. Governor and Attorney General.

I felt good.

I was delighted that my polling station was busy.

Yesterday was a run through for the November midterm elections.

I think we should adopt the Australian voting protocol which says that residents who fail to vote and do not provide a valid and sufficient reason will be fined.

The penalty for first time offenders is $20 and increases to $50 if you have previously paid a penalty.

Having to be engaged in order to cast a responsible vote means you pay some attention to what is happening in the world.

Since compulsory voting was introduced in Australian in 1924, turnout has been as high as 96 percent.

There are so many important issues affecting Americans (women’s rights, gun control, healthcare, social security, the environment, climate change, infrastructure, immigration, education, gender equality, abortion, etc.) that voting in November should be a self-imposed mandatory requirement.

Talk it up to friends, family, your kids friends, neighbors.

This is huge.

I am set up to make calls from New York for Texan Beto O’Rourke who is running for the senate against the villainous, Ted Cruz.

Jacky Rosen needs support in Nevada to defeat Dean Heller.

North Dakota GOP Rep. Kevin Cramer, a staunch Trump ally, is trying to unseat centrist Democratic incumbent Heidi Heitkamp.

Democratic incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson is defending his seat against a challenge from the state’s well-financed Republican governor, Rick Scott.

Arizona’s closely watched race features two women, Democrat Rep. Kyrsten Sinema vs. Trump supporter, Martha McSally, who are vying for the Senate seat being vacated by retiring Republican Senator Jeff Flake.

Send whatever money you can to Claire McCaskill in Missouri. The Koch Brothers and other right wing donors are investing $20 million to defeat  McCaskill.

Get involved…even if you donate $5 it can really help.

You cannot complain and bitch IF You Don’t  Vote.
