Island Girl…

The 4th Wave.

I am not a surfer beyond the web.

I am presently riding the crest of the 4th Covid wave…so relieved and grateful that I have not caught it.

I am cautiously optimistic, but still not convinced it is prudent to be in close quarters with other mutants/humans.

I have absolutely no plans to go to a movie theater, museum or to resume indoor dining.

I miss the delicious excitement of dining out…sampling interesting cuisines, dining in beautiful, creative surroundings.

I will hold off…just give me a socially distanced metal table for two outside or an isolated picnic table, thank you very much.

I go nowhere without my mask and 6 foot ruler, still side stepping humanity.

Michigan is case in point in how you still need to be very cautious and not be tempted to jump in the deep end.

Michigan is in the throes of a coronavirus outbreak that is one of the largest and most alarming in the country. Infection levels have exploded in recent weeks, in both  big cities and rural districts.

Once again, America is moving onward and upward with new outbreaks of the virus.

“No man/woman is an island entire of itself,” but I will continue to stand alone, adhering to solo hikes, isolated beach visits and spinning my wheels in the comfort of my own home.
