Last night we dined outside in the West Village
In Manhattan every restaurant now has al fresco dining due to Covid, but it is a delightful remnant of a horrid reality.
High Street on Hudson has been a staple on Hudson for several years, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
This was my first dinner and it was lovely and reasonably priced.
We started with a dozen fresh and delicious oysters…4 Duxbury, 4 Wellfleet and rounding out the dozen, Greenpoint ($2 each).
The Kale Caesar was outstanding, the dressing was fabulous adorned with Parmesan and black currants ($18).
The grilled Peach and Burrata salad was the perfect dish for a warm summer evening. The burrata was creamy and the peaches fresh and sweet with a spring onion pesto accent ($16).
My daughter and I shared a mouthwatering steak with a great sear, a rich red wine butter, a confit of garlic and fresh tomatoes ($28).
My husband loved his crispy fish tacos with red cabbage, chipotle mayo and cilantro ($19).
It was a terrific, delectable evening under the stars.
