A Delicious Resource In The Lincoln Center ‘Hood
Bar Boulud.
Although not new, there is actually an affordable restaurant in my corner of the world with style, ambiance and fab food.
Bar Boulud, Daniel Boulud’s casual bistro located across from Lincoln Center, serves seasonal French fare and an impressive selection of wines.
We had an amazing experience and a great meal to boot.
My daughter and I arrived early and decided to have a martini in the bar area.
We were greeted by the absolutely maaaavelous new manager, the charming, Marie.
She graciously seated us and was unbelievably attentive.
We imbibed satisfying Chopin martinis.
Soon after, my husband joined the party and we were seated at a geographically desirable table in the middle of the wine cave inspired dining room.
We kicked things off with Bar Boulud’s trademark Escargots which were tender and delectable in a divine garlic sauce ($14).
The sommelier stopped by for a chat and we took him up on his recommendation of a fabulous northern Rhone wine, BTL Trias ($64).
Next up was a sublime Salad Nicoise with the freshest ingredients and a combination of rare Ahi Tuna and imported tuna.
We shared a divine Trout Amandine ($31).
We also ordered a side of Spinach that was perfectly sautéed ($7).
The staff sent over a basket of warm, just out of the oven, Madeleines that were scrumptious.
I was truly impressed with how delicious the food was and the attentiveness of the staff.
I had previously dined at Bar Boulud and was not overly excited.
I don’t know if the restaurant has upped its’ game, but I can’t wait to return.
Bar Boulud is not just a wonderful neighborhood spot, but a destination restaurant, as well.
