I am exhilarated.
Last night I met my new best friend.
She is hysterical, foul mouthed, spontaneous, confessional, witty, self-deprecating and adorably charming, as pessimistic as me and yearns for her youth…I can totally relate.
I cannot wait to sit around on the couch, watch the Olympics, eat Cheetos and paint our nails together.
Her name is Adele Laurie Blue Adkins.
We met in a large crowd and I don’t think she remembers me, although we did make eye contact.
I can forgive her because she was so busy entertaining hordes of other fans and friends.
Adele delivered an incredible evening of song and mirth to an adoring crowd.
The British dynamo is the next Streisand, sharing not only sarcasm, gorgeous hands and nails, but the voice.
Her instrument is even better (if that is possible) in person.
The 17 piece orchestra plus three back up singers provided an outstanding support system.
Adele is playing the Staples Center in LA for an unprecedented sold-out eight night engagement.
The visuals were fabulous especially images of her growing up, concluding with a photo of the very pregnant Adele.
Her playlist did not disappoint, including Set Fire To The Rain, her Oscar winning James Bond theme, Skyfall, Rumour Has It, When We Were Young, a cover of Bob Dylan’s, Make You Feel My Love, Water Under The Bridge, Sweetest Devotion, Send My Love and, of course, the ultimate break up song, Someone Like You.
She opened the show with her first hit off the 25 album.
Hello…Adele I am here and ready to answer the phone when you call.
Thank you for an amazing evening, friend.
