It’s going to be a long hot summer.

The NY Yankees are 6.5 games out of first place in their division and the prognosis is not good.

The diagnosis…the Yankees are hitless wonders and starting pitching sucks.

Baseball is a team endeavor…just like marriage.

If one partner is in a slump the other player has to pick up the slack and shoulder more responsibility.

When the team is underperforming than their is trouble in paradise.

The one bright spot for the Yankees is the closing trifecta of No Run DMC also known as Betances (7th inning), Miller (8th inning) and Chapman (9th inning).

These three are a lock.

Wouldn’t it be a hoot to be in a marital battle about family finances,  in-law issues, sex or child rearing and be able to call in a relief pitcher or closer to shut things down.

What an asset.

The Yankees slump have given me food for thought regarding marriage and being a productive team player.

My relationship with the Yankees is tenuous at the moment.

We need to change course and have some conflict resolution…too little upside at the moment.

Meanwhile, I am going to finish my post and see if I can get to first base with my teammate.
