My family has been living under a cloud of uncertainty.
We hung tight even though the doctor called and asked me for a copy of my mother’s living will…not a positive vibe.
Honestly, it was a shock as my mom has appeared to be raring to go after mainlining iron infusions for several weeks.
She went for a routine check up and the doctor mentioned the ‘C’ word.
Apparently, certain tests were indicating trouble.
Queen E. had to have a Pet Scan last week.
We held our collective breathe. After a 48 hour interminable wait, the doctor finally called with the verdict…she was clean.
No cancer.
When Eunie Babes called with the results we cried a river and then moved on.
I would like to take a moment to give a shout out to my mother. She weathered the storm like a real trooper.
Look, my mom is a nonagenarian. She has another celebration of life coming up on April 30th.
The greatest gift I can hope for her is that she can enjoy an uncomplicated life.
Thankfully, all is well and she can continue to thrive and drive me crazy.
Bring it on.
