Summer Breeze…

Summertime and the living was easy and hot.

Labor Day weekend marks the official end of summer, the packing away of white accessories and back to school.

What are the affects on people who have no school age children to get ready to go back to elementary, middle, high school or college?

Real life work doesn’t adhere to that schedule so my only transition is to no more sweating and getting ready for football season.

The long holiday weekend was groovy.

Tennis, new restaurants, shopping, road trip.

Friday, after walking the four miles from the upper west side to the west village, we ventured to the Chelsea Market and tried a new sushi restaurant and surprisingly good tahini soft serve.

Saturday was lunch at a fab farm in North Salem, New York.

Saturday evening was dining at a new midtown restaurant which opened this week from the 2 Michelin Star Jungsik owner.

Sunday was a wonderful trip upstate to Hudson, New York. We departed a dreary NYC and two hours later we were basking in sunshine.

Hudson has morphed into a furniture mecca. The extensive Main Street showcases gorgeous displays, a plethora of restaurants and truly delicious coffee…who knew.

After a full day in Hudson we wiggle waggled our way home through Germantown, Tivoli and Red Hook.

A tour of Hudson:

Monday was a deep dive into Manhattan’s greenery.

We averaged 15,000 steps a day and enjoyed every  one.

Dinner was outside at Tavern on the Green with a slight breeze and a surprisingly delicious meal of grilled salmon and a chopped fresh vegetable salad.

Looking forward to some late summer weather, football, France and new adventures.
