The revenge fairy.
She seems to darken my door every time I am positive.
I am of the ilk that frets whenever I fly.
My thoughts are clouded by winter and summer storms that impede air travel, airport security and a general fear of flying.
I am afraid if I think positively and say that the flight will be smooth and relaxing then fear inducing turbulence is guaranteed along with the the other issues.
This fate occurs in other aspects of life, as well.
For instance, last week I called the vet to schedule Madison’s annual check up.
The office inquired about Madison’s health.
I honestly and foolishly responded, “She’s great!”
The next day her nose was running and Madison was limping.
Monday, I mentioned to my husband that my mother’s attitude was so positive and she hadn’t complained about her physical state in weeks.
Yesterday, she telephoned from the doctor.
Her blood count was so dangerously low that the doctor said she could have died.
Thankfully, her heart is strong.
Today, she was admitted to the hospital for several days to be administered a blood transfusion and additional treatment.
Do you see what I mean?!
Last week I was elated because the Connecticut kitchen was going to be completed.
That didn’t happen.
The countertop was cut 9 inches too short and no one delivered the backsplash tiles.
I continually want to release my internal Good Vibes Fairy who is boldly standing behind negative Revenge Fairy, but I just don’t have the courage.
The price is too high.

Seems I’ve met her. Generally she visits just after a comment from me like, “Wow, I haven’t had a cold this year. I feel great!”
Sorry about the counter top and tiles. Why is THAT such a common story?
Did you use Tony on the bathroom? If so, how did he do?
Afraid to say, ‘I’m so happy about your mother’, but I will!
So good to hear from you! Just perused your website…you are busy! Congratulations!!
