Doing a slow food roll into the New Year.
I do have some specific restaurant recommendations and a fabulous recipe.
New York City: You must dine at 63 Clinton Street. Amazing food, service and embraceable ambiance.
South Florida: Delicious sushi at Sushi Bang Bang in Boynton Beach. Ask for Savannah, the superb server.
Dive bar with amazing seafood: Hurricane Alley in Boynton Beach. Order steamers, the sidewinder potato fries and peel and eat shrimp. Sit outside to avoid trumpster exposure.
Miami Beach: Joe’s Stone Crab: bestest, freshest stone crab anywhere.
Paris: breakfast and lunch at Mokonuts. Lunch at Liquide.
Annecy, France: Dinner of a lifetime at Clos des Sens.
Los Angeles: seafood dinner in Santa Monica at Crudo e Nudo. Le Comptoir for an unusual dining experience.
Recipe time: I am going to share my grandmother’s blini/matzoh meal latke/pancake recipe…whatever fits your ethnicity. It is easy, impressive, delectable, light as a feather and screams fabulosity.
The recipe du jour…
Pancakes for 2 People…add 2 extra eggs for 4 people
2 Eggs beaten well
3/4 cup matzoh meal (gluten free matzoh meal is available and as delish)
1/2 cup milk or half and half
1/4 cup water
salt and pepper
Mix all the ingredients together
I place mixture in the refrigerator the night before. If the mixture becomes to thick add water until it loosens up.
Melt butter in pan or electric skillet and brown each side. Add more butter to keep batter moist. I use a tablespoon of batter for each pancake.
Cook time is approximately 10 minutes per batch. Serve with such items as: sugar, maple syrup, creme fraiche and caviar, smoked salmon.
Both sweet and savory are scrumptious.
Enjoy!!
