Hot Child In The City…

I would rather be cold than hot.

The east coast is sweltering.

I have become more of an inside human, hibernating from the heat in dim, cold spaces.

The Peloton bike has become my mode of transportation.

This weekend my outdoor exposure was quite calculated.

Within the cool confines of my apartment I did damage at Quince.com which offers high quality clothing at affordable prices. Quince is a U.S. company, partnering with more than 50 top manufacturers around the world, eliminating middle person charges.

I never pay for shipping and Quince never charges. Plus you have a year to decide if you like the merchandise. The cashmere and linen are superb and such a deal.

After all that excitement, we then journeyed by car to Jack’s Lobster Shack in Edgewater, New Jersey just across the George Washington Bridge for a lobster roll. Surprisingly, I ended up ordering a 11/2 pound lobster meal.

The lobster was sweet and meaty and only $44 with salad, cole slaw and corn on the cob.

Dessert was a Sour Cream Apple Pie that had the best crust and they added on a dollop of vanilla ice cream.

There was a Trader Joe’s less than one mile down the road so I had a jump on the week’s groceries.

Sunday was facial day with owner Karen at Sia’s Beauty NYC.

Prior to that we enjoyed a Aussie brekkie with an American twist at a new cafe called, Citizens of SoHo (there is also one in Chelsea).

We indulged in a lovely breakfast outside before the heat knocked us for a loop.

Citizens is a novel concept where individuals can invest in the company’s national growth. For example, by investing $1000 you are entitled to free coffee for a year or $10,000 and get free brunch for life.

It is very attractive inside with walls adorned with artwork. The staff is noticeably friendly.

Parker and I struck up a conversation because I noticed he was wearing a Specials t-shirt.

The Specials are a ska band that I was publicist for many years.

Parker is a fan and it was fun reliving my rock ‘n roll past.

On to the facial which was only a minute from the restaurant.

Karen is a superb aesthetician. I have never experienced such a thorough facial. She always goes above and beyond.

The room is quiet and comfortable and the best part is she uses the most effective equipment and customizes the facial to your individual needs. She did a three circuit treatment and I swear I looked like I had just gone in for a lift.

My husband followed and received a totally different facial.

Do your face a favor and book at Sia’s Beauty. I have tried celebrity facialists at triple the price point and Karen is better.

While I waited for my husband I walked the streets of SoHo with our doggie, Finnley. It was stinking hot and we checked out stores more for the available AC then the wares.

Another creative, but hot weekend in the city.
