Ain’t Nothing Like The Real Thing…

Hopeful.

Joyful.

That is the way I have felt ever since Biden graciously stepped aside and Kamala took the lead.

Enthusiasm has gone from a 2 to an ascending 10 in less than a month.

I am not embarrassed to say that I welled up during the opening night of the DNC.

Hillary was more powerful and engaging then ever before, AOC was charismatic, Jamie Raskin was salty, the women who had been abused and faced devastating pregnancy issues were awe inspiring, Jill Biden’s beauty shined through, Senator Warnock moved mountains, Ashley Biden was warm and hit all the right notes and Joe Biden was presidential and dignified.

Night two of the DNC.

Democrats turned their ceremonial roll call of delegates into a raucous dance party. DJ Cassidy spun tunes for every state as they nominated Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

I wanted to grab Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff and give him a hug, President Obama was pointed and commanding. Michelle Obama made me think, I am woman hear me roar!

For several years the Democratic Party has taken Michelle Obama’s words to heart…”when they go low, we go high.”

I am thrilled that they have refined the message a bit and lowered the bar a smidge. You cannot ignore a bully. You have to confront him.

Democrats have demurely rolled up their collective sleeves and taken on the lying wind bag of hatred and negativity.

I am looking forward to tonight’s headline speakers, President Bill Clinton and Governor Tim Walz. Other speakers of note will include U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Republican, former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan.

We must all move forward and marry Hope with action.

Make calls, knock on doors, send $5 to down ballot Democratic candidates.

We won’t go back!
