I have to fess up.
I am in the throws of Puppy Love.
I feel like a teenager who just experienced her first crush.
My heart swells and I break all my rules.
Yes, Finnley B. has bulldozed me and I have succumbed to her charms.
Who can resist a gorgeous puppy with those big eyes, the cocked head, silky body and enormous snuggle power.
That’s not to say my love for Ms. Madison has lessened. It’s just that wherever I go, Finn follows with unmitigated devotion.
I cook and she fits in between the counter and me, laying across my feet.
When I bathe, she waits outside the glass shower door.
When I brush my teeth she squeezes in between the vanity and me.
When I depart home Finnley throws her body in between the door to impede departure.
Those ears are like antennas, on alert to program our every movement.
She is brilliant, sweet, affectionate and if she would only lessen her glee at seeing other dogs on our frequent outdoor adventures we might just achieve perfection.
It is impossible to imagine life without Finnley and Madison.
