We Are One…

Saturday was a inspirational day.

The dynamic mother/daughter duo waited at 4:45am in the foggy stillness of the early morning for the bus to take us along with 34 other caring, supportive, involved people to the Women’s March on Washington.

Our bus was filled with Oscar and Emmy winning women, editors, filmmakers, but collectively we were one…caring people trying to find our footing during a very disconcerting time in the history of America.

The ride took off with confidence as one of the participants announced that a trusted, well informed confidant had declared us safe from a North Korean invasion on Saturday.

We departed the city optimistic.

The road was littered with hundreds of chartered buses maxed out with pink caps and clever, compelling signage.

The bus made a pit stop in Pennsylvania, but coffee and toilet privileges were not to be as thousands of other participants had the same idea.

The pre-March sight was thrilling…a precursor of great things to come.

We laughed and derided ourselves for not  packing Depends.

We acquired our laminates and made it to the stage, proudly standing shoulder to shoulder with grandmothers, veterans, handicapped citizens, teens, babies in strollers.

Amy Schumer, Katy Perry, Kamala Harris, Michael Moore, Chloe Grace Moretz, the president of Planned Parenthood, Cecile Richards were all part of the outpouring of support and love.

We then marched towards the White House, almost one million strong, with love in our hearts, feeling uplifted and hopeful for just being there…united.

We must continue to built on the magnitude and importance of the historic day.

Please, stay involved and connected.
