Trufflemania…

It’s raining truffles in SoHo.

That is a very good thing and it is happening at MAMO.

MAMO is an elegant, yet unpretentious restaurant, combining Italian and Provencal specialties, serving them up in a charming, refined setting.

Mamo Dining Room

MAMO has been on my restaurant bucket list for a while even before Jay-Z and Beyonce began dining there.

Last week I dove into the truffle pool.

Mamo Entry

AT MAMO, you are warmly greeted and then ascend to the second floor dining area.

Chopin Martini

We awaited our daughter’s arrival and nursed an ice cold Chopin martini at the bar.

MAMO Bartender, Emil

Emil, a savvy Russian who spent years at the always trendy Pravda bar, is in charge of the adult beverages.

Burrata Salad

To sustain us, we ordered, Come a Capri, a wonderful burrata salad with sweet ripened tomatoes and baby romaine lettuce ($20).

We were soon seated and the attentive service commenced.

We kicked the meal off with an amazing Risotto Tartufo…every bite of truffle was a treat combined with the delectable al dente risotto ($60).

Truffle Burger

The Truffle and Foie Gras Mamo Wagyu Burger was exotic as well as delicious ($44).

French Fries

The crispy, piping hot French Fries were as good as any in France and were served in a classic brass pot.

Everything was shared which is a good thing as all the dishes were rich and filling.

Burrata Salad

The flavorful Wild Salmon Selvaggio was accompanied by cauliflower puree and broccolini ($32).

Our first encounter with MAMO was years ago at the original, trendy and celebrity driven MAMO in Antibes.

For a truly lovely night out, you must try MAMO, especially if you are passionate about truffles.

Washington Square Park

We walked home through Washington Square Park and came upon an iconic NYC summer evening’s entertainment scene.

Another night in NYC, another fabulous experience.
