It is better to look good than feel good.
I am sporting a new accessory.
My custom purple embellished cane, courtesy of the courtly Queen E., is my new support system.
I took flight Saturday night.
Excited to meet old friends at my favorite NYC sushi bar, I did a Saquon Barkley right side end run because the blockers in front of me were slow to move the pile and, subsequently, caught my foot on a trap door latch and literally ate the metal cover.
I am down for the count, much like the NY Giants and have made the Injured Reserve list.
My inherited cane gets me around the apartment.
I am a southpaw which complicates cane manipulation because my left hand is very swollen, but my in-house aide helps me navigate.
Life is full of unexpected challenges.
I hope to be cleared off IR and back on the roster by next week.
