To Do List…

Today is HSS day…wahoo!

Surgery is on my To Do list so think of me as I anxiously hang at the Hospital for Special Surgery while my husband gets cemented back together.

While I await a hopefully successful outcome, refusing to entertain a pity party, I will instead avoid reality and channel a wonderful new Broadway musical I recently attended.

Inspired by true events, the Buena Vista Social Club brings the Grammy Award winning album to life, telling the story of the legends who lived it.

A world-class band joins a sensational cast of musicians, actors and dancers for an authentic experience.

Buena Vista Social Club was a musical ensemble primarily made up of Cuban musicians, formed in 1996. The project was produced by American guitarist Ry Cooder.

They named the group after the members club of the same name in the Buenavista quarter of Havana, a popular music venue in the 1940s.

A documentary was released in June 1999 based on the live performances. It received critical acclaim.

The success of both the album and film sparked a revival of interest in traditional Cuban music.

These projects culminate in two hours of pure unmitigated first class Broadway musical entertainment.

Put Buena Vista Social Club on your To Do list.
