Timeless Beauty…

Paris is undoubtably one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

We were there when the Victoria Secret models winged their way into the City of Lights to record the 2016 fashion show at the Grand Palais…Paris still outshines the leggy angels.

I never tire of the sight of the statuesque Eiffel Tower, the stately Arc de Triomphe, the godliness emanating from Notre Dame, the elegant expanse of bridges across the majestic Seine.

Everywhere you turn in central Paris conjures up “ah moments.”

We powered our way into Paris early last Sunday morning.

We departed southwest France by 6am in order to experience a doubleheader at two distinguished Parisienne museums.

The masterpieces, Gates Of Hell and The Thinker, are prominently featured in the Rodin garden.

We departed and made the 20 minute drive to the Frank Gehry designed, Fondation Louis Vuitton,  in the Bois de Boulogne in the 16th arrondissement of Paris to view the exhibit, Icons of Modern Art, The Shchukin Collection.

130 impressionist and post impressionist masterpieces from the Heritage and Pushkin Museums in Russia are on display.

The exhibit runs through February 20th, 2017.

The line for the Shchukin collection was long.

Courtny and I were both limping from an ungainly exit from a Bordeaux restaurant.

A handsome, young guide at the museum asked if we needed assistance.

Naturally, I responded in the positive and the next thing we knew he scooped us up from the 60 minute long waiting line and took us straight into the museum.

The place was packed, but we were able to take in the remarkable exhibit.

The views of the city and the building on the outside terraces is as stunning as the exhibit.

Marais Apartment

Mission accomplished. We drove to our apartment, dropped off the luggage and headed to our favorite jewelry shop on Rue des Franc Bourgeois in the Marais.

As the clock struck 7pm and, being football Sunday in America, we started to experience NY Giant football withdrawal.

Being a magician as well as technically superior to her parents, our daughter was able to dial up WFAN on her iPhone as we strolled the scenic rues in the Marais, hanging on every word that Bob Papa and Carl Banks uttered.

We found a Spanish tapas bar with outside seating and sipped our Pastis, nibbling on tapas for three hours in 40 degree weather while to listened to the Giants play by play.

L'As Falafel

After the game, we stood in line to have a falafel at the infamous, L’as du Fallafel in Le Marais and digested the shaky victory.

Incredible food, awe-inspiring sights, renown culture and the NY Giants…Paris has it all and no Trump.

C’est magnifique.
