It came true.
I opened my eyes and it was Saturday in New York City, signifying endless possibilities.
We hit Central Park running with the doggies.
The day was exquisite.
We then headed out to the MET to see the latest Costume Institute 2017 Exhibition, Art of the In-Between, featuring Rei Kawakubo, the founder and designer behind Comme des Garcons (“like some boys”).
Since Comme des Garçons inception in 1969, the Tokyo based designer has consistently defined and refined fashion aesthetics.
Rei Kawakubo’s collections continually upend conventional notions of beauty and fashionable body image, establishing an unsettling zone of visual ambiguity and elusiveness.

Also on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art are the amazing photographs of legendary photographer, Irving Penn.
Visually satiated, but physically hungry we visited the Pastrami Queen on Lexington Avenue.
One sandwich makes 4 meals.
David and I window shopped our way down Madison Avenue and strolled back through Central Park.
We decided to treat each other to Spa Pedicures, David’s singular nod to metrosexualism.
We were then thrown a curve ball as it took over one hour to get to the Meatpacking district courtesy of a very disruptive subway system, ultimately making us tardy for the party.
The evening concluded at that bastion of yumminess, Sociale in Brooklyn Heights.
The food was over the top, the wine beyond gratifying and Francesco made what might be the final birthday celebration of 2017, memorable.
