Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This…

Tight end for the New York Giants.

That was my answer when inquiring adults asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.

They walked away confused and Queen E. and  the Mighty Mo would just smile.

I thought the adults were all idiots for not validating my career goals…a girl can dream and actually achieve her goals.

Unfortunately, I never earned the distinction of becoming the first female version of Rob Gronkowski, Travis Kelce or Tony Gonzalez, but I did enjoy a successful career in sports and music, working with fellow obsessed sports fans like Huey Lewis and the News.

Fast forward to 2023 and the kids of the 21st century want a career as a YouTuber rather than an astronaut, professional athlete, doctor or teacher.

I am not making this up.

Toy company Lego surveyed 3,000 children between the ages of eight and 12 from the U.S., the U.K. and China, as well as 326 parents who had children between five and 12 years old and the survey said, YouTuber!

I still dream of strapping on my shoulder pads, slipping into my NY Giants uniform and catching a perfect spiral from Eli Manning…never from present quarterback Daniel Jones as my dreams are better than that.

Apparently, career goals change, but we can all keep on dreaming.
