SoHo is actually so cool!

I had an appointment yesterday in the area.

I rarely walk around the district because I am usually downtown during the weekend which is the absolute worst time to hang there.

Saturdays and Sundays in SoHo are usually overrun by Bridge and Tunnel peeps and uninformed, slow moving tourists.

The quaint cobblestone streets, blocks of boutiques and appealing outdoor dining spots are often overlooked when trying to walk on the mobbed sidewalks.

I was surprised that SoHo was so busy on a Tuesday. It was a perfect day and everyone was drinking iced coffee, relaxing under yellow umbrellas in front of the plethora of coffee shoppes scattered about the narrow streets.

I forgot how many fabulous local designer and well known designer stores line the blocks.

The streets were rather empty close to Canal affording me the opportunity to really check out the architecture.

The Elizabeth Street Garden is a beautiful, tranquil oasis in the middle of SoHo, offering a natural reserve in the middle of a busy, chaotic city. The garden has been home to the neighborhood for nearly 200 years and offers a plethora of cultural free programs.

Mayor Adams is going to demolish this oasis to build low income and senior housing.

NYC residents are fighting hard to stop this heinous act.

I really enjoyed strolling around and even bought a fab blazer at the mega SoHo Zara store.

Browsed the new line, Vuori, located on Spring Street whose fabrics are like butta’ and better than Lululemon.

Take some time to dine, stroll the historic cobblestone streets and delve into SoHo’s appealing retail therapy next time you are downtown or visiting New York City.
