I usually agree with her insights, but I beg to differ on this matter.
Recently, she said that you cannot be friends with your children…only a parent.
I have concrete proof that you can be friends as well as an effective parent.
Saturday, I spent the day with my bestie.
We hung out, had lunch, did a deep dive into heady issues. I helped her select outfits for her business trip and even grabbed a new blazer from her Zara return pile.

When you have a daughter like mine you can successfully be the mother and the bestie.
We have over three decades of living proof.
Ours is a relationship that is unbreakable, sometimes bendable and way too much fun filled with mutual respect, cooking tips, NY Giants highs and lows, travel highlights, restaurant adventures, Broadway forays, compatible retail therapy, long walk sacrifice your body buddies and excessive accessory sharing.
It simply works!
