Somewhere over the rainbow I have found happiness.

Just living in my sunshine bubble.

I am in shock. I actually am enjoying South Florida.

Thankfully, I never entertain anything remotely DeSantis…wait, I lied. I recently saw a man in the grocery store with a gun in his waistband.

I asked him if he was into exploding melons. He asked if l was from New York.

The weather had been perfection. It is starting to heat up, but still no dreaded humidity.

I am addicted to our pool. I swim laps before 8am and then await the arrival of the Mermaids, an eclectic group of bright, engaging women. We spend mornings walking and running the pool with arm weights and regal each other with stories, restaurants, desirable food emporiums and community gossip.

I love the relationship meet and greet sagas all ending in marriage.

I am existing on La Scala salads and rotisserie chicken.

I have played tennis and pickleball, sworn off television and have gravitated to real books.

I have bonded with the Sleek Beast, our vintage Jaguar Coupe. That has been my most challenging relationship here.

The beach is a huge draw and I have nixed shopping except for my forays into the Amazon.

Happy Hour is now my bestie. Last night I had dinner with a new buddy and we ordered 4 items, margaritas and with tip it was $17 each.

Back to the big cities soon, but I love my place, new friendies (Mermaids and a special shoutout to Fran) and the constant availability of water.

I could get used to this life.
