After a walk to town with Madison and a veggie spree at the Palisades farmer’s market, I headed home to meet up with my retail motivated daughter.
Courtny needed a fix and when it comes to shopping I am her partner in crime. I ditched my husband and abandoned our plan to read and relax at the beach and headed up the pacific coast highway.
With the top down and a iPhone filled with Springsteen, Hozier, Marvin Gaye, Bruno Mars, among other favs, we cruised in her classy BMW with the gorgeous red upholstery.
Drive time was under 50 minutes, first taking in the beauty of the Pacific Ocean and then driving inland and enveloped by the majestic mountain range, inhaling rows of blooming produce, including pungent scallions that permeated the landscape.
Then we hit the clay colored retail jungle of the Camarillo Premium Outlets. We headed to our usual parking area and approached the customary first stop, JCrew.
Another scenic moment was the 50% off sign that welcomed us into JCrew.
Courtny scored with a fabulous scallop edged dress, originally $110 with 60% off…now $27. She purchased denim cut offs for $23, a trademark Jackie cardigan for $21 and several additional very cool items. Total expenditure, a ridiculously low $175.00.
Included in the tally were cotton shorts for $19 and a beautiful white Pima cotton button down shirt for David also $19.
We did drive bys at Theory and Elie Tahari, but the merchandise was disappointing.
BCBG was stellar. Usually, it is expensive ‘ho clothes, but Sunday they had fabulous apparel made of high quality fabrics.
We found an amazing skirt, shorts and tops at 50%. All perfect for the hot weather yet trendy outfits to pack for Coachella, the music and arts festival near Palm Springs, California.
Splendid and Ella had amazing discounts. Fab pants, dresses and tops at unbelievable prices. This is where I splurged. I purchased hair ties half off and spent a whopping $4.00.
We then took the long walk to the Designer section and Courtny found a $400 Tory Burch knit dress for $69 as well as leather and suede booties, originally $450 for $249.
Polo was a disappointment. I usually buy tons of polo shirts for the family, but no go this time. Nike was insane and minor discounts.
Paint me sunshine yellow…Kate Spade had too many happy people which was a turn off and we sailed past Restoration Hardware having been there way too many times over the last six months.
After hours of shopping we drifted into Los Arroyos Restaurant and split a chicken fajita.
Before we knew it, it was 5pm. We headed home and again traveled the coastal route, hitting some heavy traffic in Malibu. The advantage was were able to really check out all the beachfront homes.
We arrived back in the Palisades ready for the runway.
