New York City could use a facelift and its first priority is a new mayor.
I bet most New Yorkers do not even realize that the NYC mayoral primary is June 22nd.
Mayor of NYC is considered the second toughest job in the country.
Former presidential candidate, Andrew Yang, is considered a front runner.
Add to the mix a professional chef, a former Housewife of New York, choreographer, realtor, a Russian immigrant, a surgeon, a nurse plus all the alleged “professionals”: Shaun Donovan, former HUD Secretary under Obama, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, Ray McGuire, the former vice chairman of Citigroup who left his job to run for mayor, Maya Wiley, a civil rights lawyer and former MSNBC pundit, City Comptroller Scott Stringer who never goes away, progressive Dianne Morales, Republican Curtis Sliwa, the founder of the Guardian Angels and Paperboy Prince, the nonbinary Brooklyn rapper, among others.
Needless to say, it is a real mixed bag of candidates.
Huge issues hang over NYC just like humidity on an oppressive August day.
Big Apple residents have been through so much in the past year, including the past 8 dreary years under Big Bird DeBlasio and his ineffective wife.
New York City is such a bright star…a bit tarnished and tattered of late.
We all need to roll up our sleeves and get involved in this election even if you do not vote in New York as many take full advantage of what NYC has to offer…Broadway, Museums, Retail, Culture, Sightseeing, Central Park, the plethora of amazing Restaurants.
These days New Yorkers appear preoccupied with other matters which is totally understandable and who isn’t sick and tired of politics after Agent Orange sprayed his poison all over the country for four arduous years.
NYC is a world unto itself so support, donate, read up on the multitude of candidates once the list dwindles exponentially after the primary.
Every single election, local, state and federal, affects our lives and our children’s lives.
Make a difference…let’s get this party started!
