Exit chaos.

Deep breathe and listen to the sounds of silence.

It’s 8:00 in the morning and for the first time in six months I am alone in peace and solitude.

Have Mercy…I never thought I would utter these words, but the workmen have left the building.

There are still some elements to be completed, but the madness is over. No more feeding, watering, cleaning up after or engaging with strange men other than my husband.

I am down to window treatments, artwork, TV installation, wallpaper and drapery hanging. Could this really be happening?!

The pessimist in me worries a major earthquake will hit and my renovations shall crumble and crack.

The end is near, my friends. No more venting and bitching. I will have to find a new issue to write about.

I have to give a shout out to Alex and his superb painters, Maurizio and Luis from A&J Custom Quality Painting, a family operated business for 17 years.

They are neat, trustworthy, courteous craftsmen. They never painted me into a corner or showed disrespect. I guess this compensates for the contractor from hell.

If anyone in the Los Angeles area is in need of a painter, tile person, upholsterer, custom furniture maker, decorator, wallpaper and drapery hanger, glass expert, granite or marble source…feel free to reach out. I worked hard and sweat bullets to find these competent contacts.

On to  the next huge endeavor. Global warming, world peace. After this experience there is no challenge too great that could possibly overwhelm me.
