Satisfying Sushi…NYC Restaurant Review

I love sushi.

The omakase prices are absurd so I am always on the look out for great sushi at a reasonable price point.

Quality is paramount. Cheap sushi can lead to concentrated bathroom time reminding me of my daughter’s friend who met us at theatre and grabbed some gas station sushi beforehand. Needless to say she left early.

The latest omakase revelation, Omakase Shihou (Shiro) is located in the newly renovated private dining area on the upper level of Tenzan on Columbus Avenue’s upper west side, offering a traditional omakase experience with a modern touch.

You ascend a short set of stairs and enter a peaceful sanctuary.

Service is friendly and extremely efficient.

The 17-course meal is well paced and delicious as is the variety of sake.

Highlights are featured of the first class Omakase which includes 4 appetizers, 10 pieces of sushi, 1 hand roll, miso soup and dessert for $115. Lunch Omakase is $49…

If you enjoy sushi then you must try Omakase Shihou (Shiro).

Omakase Shihou (Shiro) 285 Columbus Avenue New York City. Open for dinner daily 5-9:30pm. Lunch daily 12:30-2:30pm. Reservations on Resy.
