Talk about the Midas touch.
Rich Torrisi, Jeff Zalaznick and Mario Carbone of Major Food Group never fail.
Sadelle’s is their latest triumph.
And now add Sadelle’s co-owner and baker, Melissa Weller, formerly of Per Se and Roberta’s, to the mix.
She is the bagel, babka and pastry princess at Sadelle’s.
I want to go to Vegas with the Major Food Group posse…they have a huge run of winners that are all thriving in New York City.
I am a big fan of Jewish deli. Sadelle’s elevates the brand to a new, sophisticated height.
Oy vey, Barney Greengrass you may have some serious competition.
The brick laden space on West Broadway in SoHo is very appealing…industrial yet radiating warmth.
The glass enclosed bagel making room is quite novel.
I love the way they stack the final product on long, thin poles at the front.
The aqua ombre accessories are very attractive and each table is individually overseen so that it is set to perfection.
Manager Vanessa patrols the room with an eagle eye and a gentle, efficient manner. She is a winner just like the restaurant.
Presentation is key. The tables are set with Laguiole cutlery and Le Creuset plates.
I ordered the Sable which is cured at Acme Smoked Fish. It was divine…not oily ($24).
My scooped out well toasted bagel request was met. The bagels were crispy and delicious.
The smoked fish platter presentation is elegant…the smoked fish is stacked on top and accessorized with thinly sliced cucumbers, capers, tomatoes and sweet onions.
Courtny ordered an amazing rendition of salami and eggs with mustard cooked right into the omelette and adorned with crispy shallots.
The taste was refined and blended to perfection ($18).
The coffee is strong and delicious, the service attentive and friendly.
I was a doubter because Sadelle’s is quite the hot spot as well as all over Instagram.
The lines to get in are down the block on the weekend’s.
Surprise, surprise, it definitely lives up to all the hype.
Added bonus…any day now, Sadelle’s will be open for dinner. The deli counter will convert into a bar stocked with liquor and caviar. Rock ‘n’ roll will replace the daytime pop standards. Candlelight will bring sexy back to Deliland.
Get to Sadelle’s.
Eat. Enjoy!
Sadelle’s is a keeper.
