Have you ever gone home and ravaged the refrigerator?
Yesterday, I woke up at 3am, went for a walk when the sun finally rose and then drove to Santa Monica for a 9:15am spin class.
Returned home around 11am and proceeded to eat everything I could get my hands on…thankfully, I had no sweets or I would have been in deep do do.
What is wrong with me?!
For lunch I prepared a burrata salad with heirloom tomatoes, sautéed Maui onions, sliced avocado, fresh snap peas and fresh basil.
I could have probably eaten more, but I sounded my interior 911 alarm and made myself walk briskly to the beach to move away from the fridge and pantry.
It made me think about all the kids in America who go to sleep hungry every night.
I am able to eat at will.
Many are not.
Honestly, hunger should not be a first world problem, but it is and again we have failed to provide a balance.
