What is life without it.
I crave purpose. It provides me with meaning.
A life with purpose isn’t necessarily easy, but it is fulfilling. Purpose gives direction to pain, meaning to struggle and depth to joy. It is the thread that weaves moments together.
I recently attended a matinee of the new Broadway play, Purpose, which provided food for thought.
The outstanding cast showcases lives with purpose, spotlighting the familiar familial uncomfortable, uncompromising dining room table dinner conversation.
Purpose is a vibrant family drama from Tony Award-winning playwright, Branden Jacobs-Jenkin, who has his finger on the pulse of American families.
He is the author of the remarkable play, Appropriate, which had an extended run on Broadway last year.
Purpose is directed by the two-time Tony Award-winning Phylicia Rashad, with cast member LaTanya Richardson Jackson (wife of Samuel L. Jackson), and a cast of seasoned Broadway and television actors.
Purpose is a funny, potent, intoxicating dive into the innermost feelings of the American family.

Wow! This review really made me wish I could experience what sounds like an extraordinary and memorable evening at the theatre! The cast sounds positively stellar – and the play itself like a fascinating exploration of the complexities of family life… something ‘familiar’ to all of us!
How are you and what are you up to?! It has been a harrowing 2025 and it is only March! Trump is ruining this country. Maybe Blaye?!
Our home in Pacific Palisades was involved in the fire and then David fell down the subway stairs and fractured his back and just had back surgery so it’s been fun times! Hope all is well in your world
