No party lines…just a free day off.
Crazy weather yesterday.
My significant other actually had a day off so we headed to the beach for a walk.
Both of us are hobbled so we are cautiously charting our course to recovery.
It was chilly and overcast, but we moved down the Santa Monica bikepath with purpose, destination breakfast at Back On The Beach Cafe.
The restaurant was sparsely occupied.
20 minutes after we settled into Back On The Beach was packed.
We shared our usual omelette and noticed the dark clouds moving down the coast from Malibu.
We wrapped things up and made a mad dash…as mad as 2 mature adults on IR can move.
We made it to the car without taking on too much water.
Since my husband’s desire of lounging on the beach and reading a good book dissipated with the wind and rain he agreed to a romp around Century City for the first time in over 2 years.
I was concerned that he had hit his head on the return trip, but I witnessed nothing out of the ordinary.
We parked in a deserted lot as it was just a smidge past 10am and the mall had just opened.
Century City was renovated about 5 years ago and it was very tastefully done with ultra attractive seating areas, nice restaurants and appealing retail leasing.
We actually had a mission to find David a thin knit sweater for his new jacket,
He has such great taste it is a total waste of talent that he despises shopping.
Mission completed without any retail therapy involving moi.
We headed to LaLaLand on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica for weird matcha drinks.
By 2pm the sun was shining.
A collective thank you to effective past presidents for a stellar staycation interlude.
