Oscar The Grouch…

The 97th Academy Awards, held last night in Los Angeles, showcased a stunning array of overwhelmingly uninspired fashion on the red carpet.

Hollywood’s elite embraced both a small degree of classic elegance and questionable bold statements, making it a memorable evening for what I deemed rather dull glam.

Host Conan O’Brien was predominately boring and said “Yay” as many times as the average American spouts, “like.”

Ariana Grande floated in displaying ethereal elegance in a pale pink Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown which is better showcased on the runway on a stalking giraffe type body. The dress featured a sculpted bodice and a voluminous tulle skirt.

Cynthia Erivo: captivated attendees in a custom green Louis Vuitton gown. The deep velvet dress not only highlighted her connection to the character but also showcased her bold fashion sense which frankly, would look better on a broom.

Demi Moore: wore timeless glamour. She looked lovely in a silver Giorgio Armani Privé gown which featured her implants.

Timothée Chalamet was blowing in the wind with yellow fever and his date, Kylie Jenner, wore a black dress more suitable for an extra in Anora.

No matter how much money you have you can’t buy good taste only great plastic surgery.

A plethora of black gowns was the new black.

Mens fashion was overall unappealing.

Zoe Saldaña turned heads in a maroon tiered gown complemented by sheer opera gloves. The strapless design and flowing layers added a touch of romance to her ensemble, making it one of the evening’s standout looks.

Selena Gomez rocked a classic Hollywood look in a custom Ralph Lauren gown reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe’s iconic style.

Elle Fanning embraced a vintage aesthetic with a white lace gown cinched by a black bow belt…she was dressed appropriately for her Confirmation ceremony.

Lupita Nyong’o wore a white corseted gown adorned with embroidered pearls and a matching bow looking interesting.

Julianne Hough embraced old Hollywood glamour in a Dior gown. Her role as Red Carpet host was dreary confirming the adage it is better to look good than do a good job. She told every single person she chatted with that she loved them…stick to talking with your feet, sweetie.

Storm Reid, Miles Teller and his wife Kaleigh Sperry Teller, Laura Blount, Whoopi Goldberg, Laura Blount, Ava DuVernay and Rita Wilson all exceeded ugly.

The dull ceremony was excruciatingly apolitical at a time when Hollywood should be boosting democracy and human rights and dumpin’ on trump.

Finally, the two 2025 Oscar winning documentary producers, a Palestinian and Israeli, who teamed up to create, No Other Land, made heartfelt statements👏🏻

Two hours into the broadcast Conan O’Brien acknowledge the nominated film, Anora, for finally standing up to a powerful Russian (Anora won for Best Picture).

Personally speaking, a highlight was when they honored the Greater Los Angeles firefighters. Thank you for all you do.

Boring does not adequately describe the barely bearable 3 hours of Not Must See TV.

I immediately switched to Season 3 of The White Lotus.
