Earlier this week I was thinking about how fortunate I was to be attending a Broadway show in the middle of the day on a Wednesday…keep reading as there is more to the story!
Prior to the matinee I had met husband at the jeweler where he bought me a gorgeous wedding anniversary bauble.
Elated, I skipped to the theater to see, Once Upon a Mattress.
What a privilege to witness Sutton Foster up close and personal on a Broadway stage.
Foster is a perfect combination of Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett, as well as a talented singer and dancer.
The musical is silly yet delightfully colorful and exuberant. It also contains an empowering message of positivity. Imagine an unknown woman arrives in a village ruled by an evil, controlling monarch and turns things around spreading hope and joy.
The supporting cast included Michael Urie and former SNL performer, Ana Gasteyer.
After the show, I walked up 6th Avenue and through a verdant Central Park on an exceptionally beautiful September afternoon.
Our doggie greeted me with great enthusiasm.
I whipped up a delicious dinner and we basked in the afterglow of a hopefully transformative moment for Kamala Harris.
Then the Yankees won in extra innings.
It was a very good day.
Have a wonderful weekend. Get well soon, Paula, strength and sanity and vibrant inspiration, Lisa and Happy Birthday, Ms. Syracuse.
