New York State Of Mind…

I have never witnessed so many tourists in New York City.

The main avenues are unwalkable.

Friday, I headed to midtown. The path I take through Central Park which is usually empty was packed with dozens of slow walkers.

Fifth Avenue had lines outside the designer stores.

By the end of the day I needed a drink so we headed to our Cheers, Bar Boulud, on the upper west side.

We had not been since before our trip to France.

We were so warmly greeted which is very much appreciated in these hate filled times.

Champagne was presented as soon as we saddled up to the bar and the escargot were on par with France.

Saturday was a fall day in the city.

My daughter and I had a date to see the Broadway smash hit, Merrily We Roll Along.

Our seats were stellar as was the cast comprised of Broadway standout Jonathan Groff and the biggest surprise, Harry Potter star, Daniel Radcliffe who was spectacular. He brought the house down with the song, Franklin Shepard Inc.

Dinner at Hav & Mar, Chef Marcus Samuelsson’s newish restaurant, was fabulous.

Sunday was a reprieve from football stress as the NY Giants play on Monday night so we hung in the village, shopped SoHo, and had our weekly meet and greet with our daughter.

With no line at L’Industrie pizza, a literal miracle, I grabbed a few amazing slices and we ate the pizza in the car while the sky opened up and drown the city in rain. Lunch was reminiscent of a first date.

I am one lucky biatch to live in an amazing city and have an awesome family to share it with.

Happy Holidays.
