Sunday Funday…it’s Mother’s Day.
The annual tradition where we attempt to repay decades of unconditional love and unending support with a mimosa brunch and a scented candle.
Moms are the original multitaskers. They can make a grilled cheese while diagnosing appendicitis, managing your emotional baggage, paying the electric bill, predicting the next “it” bag, all simultaneously.
Motherhood is a lot like being a secret agent. You are always alert, you’re never fully off duty, totally meet the challenge of changing outfits in a blink of an eye and no one ever really knows your true identity.
Moms deserve more than a day. They deserve an award or at least their own streaming service, Guiltflix, a place where mom’s can binge-watch home videos, judge everyone’s posture, body type and pause the show to tell you what you should be doing instead.
Seriously, this Mother’s Day, hug your mom, love her, pay homage. Call her. If she is no longer around, channel her remarkability.
Laugh with her. Listen to her story about that neighbor you have never met. If she asks you to fix her phone or be her IT technician while blowing out her hair because she thinks you are better than a professional stylist, just smile and say, “For you, Mom, anything!”
If we are lucky, we will grow up to be just like our mothers…loving, hilarious, tenacious, talented, an accomplished chef, a noted multitasker, travel agent, premiere gift giver and able to turn that frown upside down.
