Mother and Child Reunion…

I recently had an aha moment.

My daughter commented during a phone conversation that she sometimes doesn’t have the stamina to go the chitty chatty distance with me on the phone.

She said she is a poor substitute for my mom, Queen E. who I could talk to for hours.

Each person that you are close to brings something special to a relationship and boy could we dish!

To remedy things I picked myself up and drove to the country. Finnley, Queen E. and I had a lovely chat sitting in the damp manicured grass by her pastoral resting place.

We discussed everything and everybody.

I instinctively bought Queen E. an Americano, a morning bun and I brought a lavender napkin from home.

I had the best time.

I am still anxious about the state of the world and its selfish occupants, but my mom empathized and sympathized, leading me to feel both relieved and satiated.

I drove back to the city singing enthusiastically to Bruce Springsteen and all was right with the world…for now

I needed to read this today because I’m coming up on the 12th anniversary of my beloved Mom’s passing and have been missing our hours long talks and dishing about everything under the sun. Thanks!

    • 12 years. I’m glad it resonated with you. It never gets easier. Always a void, but yesterday really helped!
I hope you are doing well. Happy Holidays and all the best in the New Year💜
