Malaparte an intimate, modestly priced restaurant on a charming street in the West Village has been transporting diners to Italy for well over a decade.
I loved everything we ordered.
Brick walls, wood floors, good pastas and salads, heavy pours of wine ($13).
The delightful servers actually bring you bread and wonderful EVOO and it’s free!
The Seared Tuna Filet Tossed with Avocado in a Sesame Dressing was so flavorful with a perfectly ripe avocado and a delicious dressing that complimented the salad ($17).
The Rucola e Agrumi Hazelnuts & Mint with fresh Arugula was refreshing with chunks of grapefruit, hazelnuts and mint ($14).
The Pizza Funghi Misti with delectable assorted mushrooms, mozzarella and fresh thyme was crispy and delicious ($21).
We considered a pasta dish, but we were satiated.
Specials are offered along with at least six pasta dishes and mains such as Steak, Pork Chop and Branzino.
The rich, creamy chocolate mousse with real whipped cream also resonated ($10).
Check out Malaparte for a fulfilling, well priced meal which warmly embraces you in an amicable atmosphere.
It is also very close to the Whitney Museum and a perfect pre or post museum visit where you can savor a lovely meal.
