What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
I am usually up early. Beyond morning ablutions, I check my phone, publish my daily blog post and check the outside temperature to see if I can turn off the AC and open the windows.
Con Ed has a death grip on my bank account during the summer months. I am usually in California so I do not normally have these huge bills.
Then necessity kicks in and I make a cappuccino.
I am fortunate that I am back to almost completely taking care of myself beyond dressing my left foot and retrieving items tucked down low.
Even though my husband was great about the morning coffee ritual my fix had to wait a bit.
Did you know coffee motivates in so many ways?
Coffee does not only fortify and inspire your mind and body.
Coffee beans are a magical potion.
A team of Australian scientists looking to minimize food waste have produced concrete that is about 30% stronger by replacing 15% of the mixture’s sand with charred coffee beans.
Australia produces enough concrete that researchers say all 75,000 metric tons of the country’s annual coffee waste could be repurposed as a partial sand substitute, helping the environment and reducing the construction industry’s demand for natural resources.
Moral of the story, keep on indulging your coffee habit to support the environment.
I have to admit that savoring a cappuccino outside the home is a luxury now that the average price for 2 shots in your cappo runs $7-8. Even a regular cup of mediocre coffee is $4-5.
After watching the Republican debate last week and the general beliefs spewed by the unimpressive ass wipe candidates that climate and environmental devastation is a fantasy, I am happy to keep on brewing and indulging my morning Joe habit.
And, by the way, Americans drink 400 million cups of coffee a day. That’s a load of concrete.
