Women Are the Key To a Stronger, Caring America
Deja vu all over again.
Saturday, we once again took our pink pussy cat hats out for a walk and participated in the 2018 Women’s March in New York City.
Last year we marched in Washington, D.C. and it was an unforgettable experience.
Our group, 36 Strong, hooked up one year later and though we were missing a few founding members, we were loud and proud.
Energetic and inspired, our posse of successful, committed women took to the streets and made our voices heard.
Over 200,000 women, men and children ended up gathering along Central Park West.
The original starting line was West 72nd Street, but so many people showed up to take a stand that the human chain surged into the West 80’s and the parade continued for hours down Central Park West to the finish line at 6th Avenue and 43rd Street.
The masses were united, enthusiastic and emotionally connected.
This past year has been very difficult for anyone with a heart and a brain, but days like Saturday provide hope.
If the midterm elections are to change the balance of power in Washington, women must register to vote and be the key ingredient to guarantee success and a major shift in power.
The recent Alabama election was proof positive.
Voting is a right we must never ignore.
The March also shined a light on the concerned and motivated population united under one banner encompassing women’s rights, immigration, healthcare, workplace sexual harassment, political resistance to Trump and his self serving, destructive policies.
The involvement and rage is as strong today as it was one year ago when the country was blindsided after the election.
The March provided impressive context as citizens of all ages showcased their creativity through clever and funny homemade signage.
We are all razor focused and positive…thankful for days like Saturday they make concerned Americans believe that things will get better…goal oriented, we are united in Dumping Trump and empowering the democrats to create a Congressional majority.
The Women’s March made me feel like dancing.
I am voting for a redo…same time next year?!
