What I Did For Love
Kiss LA goodbye,
The sadness and the sorrow.
Wish me luck in NY, the same to you.
I can’t regret
What I did for love, what I did for love.
Look my eyes are dry.
Kiss LA goodbye,
And point me t’ward NY tomorrow.
We do what we had to do.
Won’t forget, can’t regret
What I did for love.
Join me in a rousing rendition of the classic standard set to new, personal lyrics from A Chorus Line, What I did For Love.
I sacrificed my mind and body for this renovation. I am compelled to sell my new dining room table for a series of Juvederm injectable facial filler treatments. I have more baggage under my eyes then I transported onto the airplane. I need a refill of blood pressure meds. I did lose weight. Perhaps I should released the Contractors Consumptive Diet.
Hopefully, by the time you read this post the NY Giants will have won the first game of the 2014 season and I will be immersed in NYC society with a working toilet and kitchen.
I cannot wait to land on the east coast, escaping renovations, contractors, inept delivery people, scratched furniture, the heatwave and signing checks as if I was at a Housewives of New Jersey cookbook signing event.
A new chapter will begin next week, exclusive of contractor and renovation comments. I will clue you in on all the latest goings on in the Big Apple, theater, restaurants, street cred, retail therapy, the latest in fall fashion and insane upstairs neighbors.
I can only pray for dry, calm interior weather in my New York City apartment. The insanity and madness needs to end even for a brief respite.
Kiss the crap goodbye and bring on the joy and no more horror.
Sing along to the tried and true, What I Did For Love. Feel free to insert my new lyrics:

Alyson Reed from the movie? Now if anyone could have dug up a copy of Priscilla Lopez from the original stage production, it could have been you! 🙂 Still, enjoy your time in NY, naturally, I’m jealous.
