I’m Leaving On A Jet Plane.
As is my tradition, I shall digress. I love the Peter, Paul & Mary song. In my past, (pre-husband) every time a significant other would fly away (I loved the freedom of long distance relationships), I would play, Leaving On A Jet Plane, on an endless loop.
I had the privilege of representing Mary Travers as well as John Denver, who wrote the #1 song. Mary Travers was an amazing woman…smart, strong, talented and had the most incredible apartment over Carnegie Hall.
Anyway…bringing you back to the present. I am up at an indecent hour as I am winging my way back to the disaster zone in Los Angeles.
I do not know if order has been restored in the new abode. Breaking news…I might have running water in the kitchen by the end of the week. Please, join hands and pray for rain in the kitchen.
There is apparently no evidence of a master bathroom, no readily available furniture or functioning television. TV better be reconnected by Sunday, although why I would ever want to watch another NY Giants football game after last week I will never know.
I depart NYC with trepidation as I woke on Saturday to the re-emergence of the same damn crack running across the bedroom ceiling. All is documented and photos of the latest Devil’s spawn have been distributed. We are waiting to see if the crack has life and if or rather when the water will rain down for the fifth time in two years.
I will be on red alert for Angry Birds aboard my flight and will update you if I encounter any suspicious behavior. I should probably not use that turn of phrase.
Hoping to communicate on the other side as heavy rain and thunderstorms are predicted. Is my birth sign water?!
Oh, New York, I hate to go…
Take a listen to, Leaving On A Jet Plane. The harmonies are killer.

I just LOVED your tribute to Mary Travers- and with it Leaving On a Jet Plane- it was wonderful. Thank you.
By the way—–You are an AIR sign- so fly away into your natural habitat!
