I never seem to go in New York City or Los Angeles.
Do they even exist in those two cities?
I love them in Florida.
In essence, Happy Hour is a cool Early Bird Special.
We drove to trendy Mizner Park in Boca Raton to check out Kapow! Noodle Bar.
My fav bartender at our place in Florida spilled the beans about Kapow! and a thirty-something parked in a Jeep with a Golden Retriever and a car full of plants at a local Delray Starbucks told me Kapow! is her favorite place especially for Happy Hour.
Mizner Park was packed last night.
We secured two seats at the bar and watched the every changing light display the entire time.
Draft beers are $4 and $5 and I was delighted with my light and breezy Funky Buddha Floridian.
We dove right into the Happy Hour menu which was an impressive array of items from the main menu.
The Wok Charred Edamame with soy, ginger and togarashi was delicious and plentiful ($5).
The Crispy Calamari with orange chili dragon sauce, peanut and scallions is prepared in corn starch so it is gluten free and they were great ($11).
The 3 Salmon Tartare Tacos with spicy mayo, avocado, truffle oil and eel sauce were crunchy and delectable ($9).
The BBQ Baby Back Ribs were tender and barbecued in a tasty Housin sauce with plum wine, sesame, scallion and chili ($17).
The 5 ingredient Fried Rice was light and flavorful, loaded with veggies.
The 4 Mushroom and Carrot Dumplings were seasoned to perfection ($7).
The conversation flowed, the chatter crackled, ESPN Sports Center kept us informed and the bartenders multi-tasked efficiently.
Kapow! packs a wallop!
