I Thought I Could Dance…

So You Think You Can Dance?!

I have been told that I have surprisingly great rhythm and movement for a white woman. I can spin around the dance floor, rock out in place and hold my own without embarrassing myself.

After attending the live taping of So You Think You Dance I have re-evaluated my dance moves and I would now categorize them acceptable for a menopausal woman.

Wow, can those kids dance. And they are fabulous in every genre. Four finalists, representing “Street and Stage,” competed and the fans of So You Think You Can Dance have until tonight to vote for “America’s Favorite Dancer”.

The winner is announced during next Monday’s finale which is the conclusion of the three month run of the show’s 12th season.

I may be persuaded to vote, but I just don’t know who I shall spend my 20 votes on.

I am a fan of the show. My daughter is an agent for Nigel Lythgoe who is Executive Producer of the show as well as being one of the three judges along with singer, songwriter, Jason Derulo and Paula Abdul.

Paula is so petite I think she can fit into my Louis Vuitton NeverFull bag. She was encased in a green mini sequin dress with silver sparkle Christian Louboutin sky high heels.

Host, Cat Deeley, wore Christian Louboutin 6 inch heels with a platform. She has to be minimum 5’9″ in bare feet and Nigel announced on the show that she is pregnant.

It was a lot of fun being in the audience and watching the talented dancers up close and personal.

I was sure David and I would win the contest for which audience members were married the longest as the audiences skewed younger, but former Junk Bond King, philanthropist, public health advocate and medical research innovator, Michael Milken, was in attendance and the billionaire and his wife were gifted with the lovely $20 parting gift.

They were much more entertaining than the muffin top men running on the beach in Pacific Palisades yesterday. There are obviously a plethora of fitness levels.

Before putting my tap shoes on and shuffling off to Beverly Boulevard, we had a relaxing day reading at the beach. The key is to arrive by 8am and depart before the vultures descend.

What a great nom-Labor Day. Sun, sand, surf and then getting revved up by others physical abilities on a television dance stage.

The gorgeous day and So You Think You Can Dance made me want to get up and dance for joy.
