Heavenly Helene Darroze…Paris Restaurant Review

Our culinary journey in Paris took us to the Rive Gauche (Left Bank) off Saint-Germain-Des-Prés.

Prior to lunch, we perused the lovely Parisienne shops, wiggle waggling our way down some of my favorite streets…Rue du Dragon, Rue de Grenelle and ended up at the fabulous Hermes boutique at 17 Rue de Sevres that ingeniously was transformed from the former swimming pool of the Lutetia hotel.

My husband bought me a fabulous bauble and around the corner our elegant lunch awaited.

We arrived on time for our 12:30 lunch at the famed Marsan par Helene Darroze.

The establishment has been elegantly remodeled.

We were guided through the open kitchen, introduced to the kitchen staff and shown to our table in the contemporary upstairs dining room.

The unique tableware was handed picked by the restaurant manager.

The Amuse Bouche was cleverly presented along with  an absolutely delightful champagne which I was unfamiliar with. Champagne Tellier is a family owned and operated winery.

We then commenced the lunch with a cornmeal blini topped with a luscious ceviche. The server hand cut herbs, sprinkling them on top of the fish.

What followed was visually stunning as well as delectably creative.

The white Burgundy with lunch was tangy and crisp perfect with lobster.

The Blue Lobster dish was unbelievable, poached in tandoori spiced butter, carrot and citrus mousseline, lampong pepper reduction, fresh coriander and beurre noisette.

The desserts were beyond delicious. The pastry chef presented the freshly churned ice cream at the table.

She is a mere 21 and has already attained great culinary heights.

Helene Darroze is a fourth generation French chef.

She has earned 6 Michelin stars amongst her three restaurants which include, The Connaught in London (3 stars), Marsan par Helene Darroze in Paris (2 stars) and Helene Darroze a Villa La Coste in Provence (1 star).

The lunch tasting menu is priced at 95 Euro and well worth it.

Our meal was a memorable culinary experience.
